In Schools, Colleges, Youth Clubs and with Arts organisations and social service providers across the country, Actiontrack have built a reputation for exciting, entertaining and innovative work in the participatory arts.
Producing Performance from Scratch
Working within the fields of popular music, and devised drama, community dance and design, Actiontrack teams build with their groups completely original performances. The script, songs, scenario and set are all devised in the period of time available.
The entire group is involved all the way through the process. As writers of lyrics and scenes, as musicians and singers, and as actors, designers, makers and dancers. Whether experienced in a particular role or not, all members of Actiontrack companies are involved in the designing and performance of their own production. Actiontrack act as directors and collaborators and do not perform themselves, encouraging the groups to take on the responsibility of not only writing but also the performing.
All the work is done with an emphasis on creativity within the group. It is in their input of ideas, improvisations and writing that determine the content and style of the performance and it is the role of Actiontrack to top up and direct the performance to the highest level possible.
Actiontrack International
The Actiontrack ethos and practice travels well, transcending barriers of both language and geography. Work in Belarus, Zambia, Portugal, Brazil and Italy, as well as in the Republic of Ireland, has resulted in the company forming strong international links which they are keen to exploit. It has also resulted in a number of relationships with international artists who the company regularly invite to work alongside them in the UK.
